“ We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion--how can God's love be in that person?” (1 John 3:16-17 NLT)
Over the past month I have talked to many viewers who are homebound.
Individuals who are living on a fixed income provided by the government. Brothers and sisters in Christ whose lifeline to the Body of Christ is through free over-the-air Christian television provided by Radiant Light Broadcasting.
These brothers and sisters are in need and are asking for our help:
“I have been watching ‘free’ TV for several years and mostly Christian programming on channels 49.1 through 49.8. Without this type of programming I would feel like my life means nothing. There is not much to look forward to if I can’t watch a variety of favorite pastors and hear Bible teaching that not only encourages me to keep on living in a chaotic, changing world but also builds faith, every day!...will you remember the less than wealthy people and our aging members of society...please do not take away what I need to watch on TV. I need to hear Christian programming and music. I received salvation through TBN. I receive daily uplifting guidance and spiritual truth. This should be important to you but I know that many do not believe that this country was built from this foundation of belief in God, the God of the Bible.” -- Judith, Kennewick, Age 63.
This past week I heard stories just like this one from dozens of viewers within our community.
Our goal (with your help) is to raise $12,000 by the end of the month. $12,000 will allow us to move Channel 49.1 (TBN) to Channel 29.1 (TBN) in the Tri-Cities only. An additional $24,000 would allow us to build out the remaining six channels (29.2 thru 29.7) in the Tri-Cities only. Lastly, a total of $100,000 would allow us to restore all of Channel 47 to Channel 32 in Walla Walla.
Are you willing to make a sacrifice with your finances for Christian brothers and sisters in need? Please consider before God how much you may need to give in order to keep Christian television available to those who cannot afford to pay for it themselves.
